Band Camp is back for 2023!

Updated: Feb 26, 2023

The UniBrass Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of its annual Band Camp, with an early bird discount until the end of February. The summer school presents a unique opportunity to develop your playing, meet new friends and perform in iconic venues. Band Camp is open to all students and school leavers, and adults aged 18-25.

Running from 23rd to 28th August 2023, in Hesley Wood Scout Camp near Sheffield, Band Camp offers you an exciting mixture of rehearsals, performances, workshops and social events in what is set to be a fantastic week of music-making with world-renowned specialists and other talented musicians.

You’ll be led by the fantastic David Thornton, who’s back this year as musical director, alongside the tutor team consisting of Steve Jones (percussionist in The Cory Band), Chris Augustine (West End trombonist), and Helen Varley (Grimethorpe Colliery Band horn player), to name just a few. Full staff details will be announced soon.

Band Camp concludes with a concert in the iconic Sheffield Cathedral where supporters will be able to hear you play with the ‘National Universities Brass Band’, showcasing your achievements from the course.

You can get all this plus accommodation and meals for just £275 for students and school leavers. Band Camp already offers you fantastic value for money, but if you book before the 10th of March you’ll be entitled to an early bird discount bringing the total down to £250. Further pricing information can be found below.
