This July, join brass players across the UK in celebrating and supporting university brass banding. Whether you're in your living room, on the street, in the band room, or on stage – pick up your instrument and take part!

From 21st–27th July, perform the brand-new "Fanfare for UniBrass" by Christian Goodwin, winner of the UniBrass 2025 Best Student Composition or Arrangement Prize.

Share your performance (video welcome!), along with our crowdfunder link, and help raise vital funds for UniBrass 2026 and the UniBrass Foundation – supporting university brass bands across the UK.

How to get involved:

​

1. Download the music from the link above. Within the linked PDF you should be able to choose between two versions of the fanfare in a selection of keys and clefs. Also above, you'll find a video of the fanfare being performed by Cory Band trombonist, Brett Baker, for inspiration.

2. Get playing! Get out your mouthpiece and grease your slides and start learning.

3. When you’re ready, film yourself performing the fanfare. Bonus points for inventive outfits/locations/ideas. If you can, try using headphones to have a metronome in your ear as you play so that it’s easy for us to piece all the recordings together.

4. Share your video online (alongside a link to our fundraising page). If you’re happy to, we’d also love it if you could email me your videos so that at the end of the week we can edit them together into a virtual massed band.

5. Encourage others to donate to the fundraiser. Share the fundraiser link (and your video) with as many people as you can and let them know why UniBrass is so important to you so that together we can raise valuable funds for the charity.
