About the event
UniBrass 2019 saw 21 University bands descend on Bangor University for the first ever UniBrass contest in Wales on 2nd February 2019.
Competing across two sections; the UniBrass Trophy and UniBrass Shield, the bands faced some fierce competition to impress adjudicators Anne Crookston, Alan Fernie, Alan Morrison and Sheona White. The UniBrass Trophy took place in Pontio’s Theatr Bryn Terfel, whilst the Shield competed in the Hugh Owen Hall in the Management Centre.
The UniBrass 2019 Gala Concert featured Tredegar Town Band celebrating brass banding, paying homage to the band’s Welsh roots and UniBrass’ debut in Wales.
