A brass band summer school with UniBrass flair
UniBrass is delighted to announce that Band Camp is back for 2024. Designed to be different, Band Camp is a brass band summer school like no other, specifically for those aged 18-25. Put the dates in your diary now - Band Camp runs from Wednesday 21 to Monday 26 August 2024.
What is Band Camp?
Band Camp is a five-night residential summer school with a UniBrass twist.

You can look forward to a mixture of rehearsals, sectionals, and workshops with activities and plenty of evening entertainment.

Participants will take part in performances across the local area, culminating in our awe-inspiring finale concert in the magnificent Sheffield Cathedral.
Who can attend?
Band Camp is for any brass or percussion players aged 18-25 at the time of the course.
You don’t have to be a current university student or at a university that competes in UniBrass. If you’re aged 18-25 you are welcome to attend. This includes school leavers, current students, and those not involved in higher education.

When and Where is it?
Band Camp 2024 will be running from Wednesday 21st to Monday 26th August and will once again be based at Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre, near Sheffield.
You’ll have the option to stay in bunkhouse dormitory accommodation or to camp if you prefer. Campers will be required to bring their own tents and camping equipment, but instruments can be stored inside. Bunkhouse rooms will be pre-allocated and we will endeavour to keep groups together.

The venue is easily accessible by car or train. There’s also plenty of parking on site and we can pick you up from Chapeltown station if you need! Participants are encouraged to use public transport or car-share where possible.

A £50 deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your place, with the final balance due nearer to the event.

Most meals are included in these rates and provided on site. Sometimes we may go off-site for food and we’ll let you know nearer the time if this will be included or if you’ll need to budget for it.
