UniBrass 2021

After a 15 month break from contesting, the 2021 contest brought brass banding back. The contest was hosted by the University of Sheffield and was held on Saturday 26th June on the Sheffield Student's Union Concourse. 


Total scores were calculated taking time penalties into account. In the event of a tie, musicality points were taken over entertainment points.

Both the In Person and Virtual sections were adjudicated by Alexandra Kenyon and Adam Cooke and was won by Durham University.

Bands with * next to points denotes where musicality points took precedent over entertainment points.   

Conductors marked with * were student conductors. 

The University of Nottingham and Leeds University Union Music Society Brass Bands received time penalties of 4 points, and the University of Huddersfield Brass Band received a time penalty of 2 points.

Due to the ongoing COVID Pandemic, UniBrass 2021 ran as a hybrid contest, with the University of Bristol Brass Band, winning the Virtual Section.
